The William N. Pennington Emergency Department Opens
After 18 months of construction, Saint Mary's newly remodeled and expanded Emergency Department opened on January 9, 2009. The 46-room Emergency Department has doubled the square footage of the former department and features a state-of-the-art patient-tracking system, First Net.
FirstNet is designed to help expedite a patient's stay and enables physicians and nurses the opportunity to enter information right at a patient's bedside, eliminating the need for paper files.
The newly remodeled Emergency Department also features the region's only in-department radiology suite, allowing for easy access for patients. Congratulations to all involved in the renovation, and thanks to the Saint Mary's Foundation donors whose generosity helped fund this project.
